The Weapons!

-Ultima: This one is hanging in a crater-like place SE of Junon. It is easy to beat him when you are on Disc 3, but it is very handy if you beat him on Disc 2 a.s.a.p. Because you get Cloud's Ultimate Weapon (Ultima weapon) from him, you might want to defeat him BEFORE you go into Midgar again! It's VERY easy to defeat him if you get the Golden Chocobo first. That way you can use Knights of the Round on him, which makes him move to his final destiny immediately, which is near Cosmo Canyon, close to the Ancient Forest. If you fight him there, and use KotR on him again, he'll probably be dead already! To get the Golden Chocobo go to The Chocobo Page.

-Diamond: This cool fella (heh heh) attacks Midgar, but you'll have to fight him first, and you can't kill him. Well, not to his death anyway, 'cause he'll get killed by Sister-Ray. You can only paralyze him, but if you fail to do that in time, he'll use a VERY STRONG attack on you, so watch out!!! When you enter the fight, know this: He uses two sorts of attack; fysical and lightning-based. You'll probably not attack him with any fysical attack, only magical, so put everyone on the back row to lessen his fysical attacks by half! Use strong Lightning based attacks on him like bolt-3 and Trine (Enemy Skill), these work the best. Other than that he's no difference to a normal boss!

-Emerald: This large green guy swims in the center of the map (underwater ofcourse!), and has about 1 million Hitpoints! Don't think he's unbeatable though, because he is actually very easy to defeat, you just have to know the way to kill him! I describe two ways of killing him here, as one way is about using a trick, but some people don't like to fight that way and want to do it "the fair way"! I respect that and therefore I have a "normal" way too! Here goes the easier one: (Note: You might want to get the Underwater materia first, which takes the timelimit away from the fight. See Special Items & Materia's for the Underwater materia.) Equip everyone with their strongest weapons and armor (WITH materia-growth!!!) and make sure you have the following materia's on you:

Now fill up the rest of the slots with materia's that need a lot of AP to become a mastered one. You're almost set to kill him. First, buy a lot of potions and Hi-potions. Now go into a regular fight with an enemy that doesn't steal from you. Kill all the enemies except one, and manipulate him. Now make sure that your HP (not maximum HP) ends at a number BELOW 7777. Let the (manipulated) enemy attack all of you until you ALL have a HP-level of xx77 (where xx is ANYTHING below 77)! Now use the Potions and Hi-potions to get all of your Character's HP at EXACTLY 7777!!!! If you go into the fight with Emerald now, you'll do a special attack BEFORE the real fight begins. You'll hit Emerald with 7777 for 64 times !!!! (497728 damage!!!)
[want it even MORE easy? Use this: Cloud-Omnislash, Barret-Umgarmax/Angermax and Yuffie-Doom of the living. Now fill up all your limits in another fight so you can use them immediately. If you fight Emerald in the 7777 status EVERY (limit) hit will be 7777 (if your HP is still 7777 that is]. Start the fight and while your characters hit Emerald for the 497728 damage do your limits a.s.a.p. as this will be like another 233310 damage!!!!!) Now cast W-KotR and MIME it with the other two. If he is STILL alive keep miming (so don't do anything else)and he will die soon! Now that was the EASIEST way! (actually not that difficult huh?) For the "non-cheaters" do the following: Have the same materia's as above, but make sure that KotR has 4 stars AT LEAST! Just do W-KotR and mime it the whole time, he'll use Aire Tarm Storm once in a while but if you have Final Attack with Phoenix (3 star miminum!) this shouldn't be a big problem. (ATS either kills you or misses)
After like 10 times KotR he'll die (if your magic level is above 200!) and you'll get the Earth Harp (counts for the "cheaters" too BTW!) Take the Earth Harp to Kalm to the right-most house below. On the 2nd floor there is a man who gives you 3 Master Materia's in exchange for it!!!! Cool huh?!

-Ruby: This is probably the most complicated enemy in the game, as he will use two extra tentacles to attack you from behind! Next to this, he is (nearly) immune to almost every attack (except for KotR!) in the game, which makes it even harder! He rests in the desert of the Golden saucer, and you'll only see a little red tentacle sticking out of the ground! Flying into that will start the fight. But you'll have to know the following: If you enter the fight with more than 1 person alive, he will use whirlsand until there is only one person left! Those who are removed by his whirlsand won't be able to finish this fight, and won't get any EXP/AP also! Next to that immunity of him his tentacles can do about every possible status-change to your party, like poison, sleep and confused! They can also bring your hp/mp to critical levels so watch out! The way I used is the following: Use Cloud with his Ultimate weapon, and put in the slots these materia's:

Now make sure that the other two members have both a MIME ability and kill them. Enter the fight with ONLY CLOUD ALIVE!!! Ok, here's the funny part: cast W-summon Hades+KotR on c.q. Ruby, his Tentacles. (this order) Ruby will be stopped and his tentacles too!!!!!! Now mime W-Hades+KotR for a couple of minutes. (Ruby will awaken from time to time to cast Ultima or Comet2!) Next, cast W-Hades+Hades to make sure he is STOPPED!! Now bring the other two alive with Angel whisper and immediately cast Hades again. Now cast W-Hades+KotR and keep miming it with all your characters. Eventually he will die !!!!! You get the Desert Rose from him, take it to Kalm again (same man) and he will give you.... another golden chocobo.....(great, this one's even worse than a CRUMMY chocobo!!!!). Oh well, you got a lot of EXP/AP from defeating him, so it was worth it after all!!!
